The new “Association” consists of a core group of the Alliance which includes only the FSC owners or their designated representatives, or specially invited members. The Association is advised and assisted by AFSA project management, including the provision of STTA. The purpose of the Association is to act as a steering committee, to ensure that the Alliance effectively improves offerings and services at the FSCs, and when feasible to act on behalf of the FSC owners as a single, collective organization bidding on relatively large input supply contracts. The Association has recently formed Task Groups which are aimed at such areas as development of a marketing & advertising program, output marketing, identification of new business opportunities, and extension & training programs.
