Helmand FSC

Helmand Farm Service Center is a centrally located agricultural input and service provider for Helmand and neighboring provinces. The Farm Service Center allows farmers access to high quality inputs, such as crop protection products, fertilizers, seeds, farm tools, veterinary supplies, machinery, extension services, and many other agricultural inputs.

Unlike usual farm stores the Helmand Farm Service Center offers only high quality products while providing access to credit, extension, and training activities for the agricultural community. In addition, the store will enhance the agricultural producer’s ability to market their products, since the area has limited marketing outlets. While some new outlets and distribution networks are being created, Helmand Farm Service Center can serve as a collection point for various crops, so that they can be sold or processed at newly created outlets such as the juice factory in Kabul, or another third party which has the capacity to process, store, transport and sell the goods. A unique feature of the Helmand Farm Service Center is to provide agricultural machinery on a rental basis, supplemented by technical and marketing assistance.
